A 3-night intention setting retreat deep in the Catskill woods
Intention Setting Retreat
Intention Setting Retreat
The call is coming from inside the house
That restless feeling you keep pushing down? The version of yourself you keep promising you'll get back to? The gut instinct you've been talking yourself out of?
That's not noise. That's you, trying to get your attention.
The Shift is three nights in the woods where you finally pick up. Your body, your intuition, your self trust is calling you back to it. To listen to what your body needs & feel alive.
What we’ll get into
Intention setting isn't a 5 year plan (who has one of those?!). It’s a guided process about getting honest with where you've been, where you are, and what you actually want next. We'll move through the last 12 months, sit with our inner critic, and build a supportive, loving focus for the months ahead - one that's rooted in self-trust, not pressure.
But wait…there’s more!
Somatic dance · Meditation & visualization · Arts & crafts · Sauna & cold plunge · Yoga · Witchy Rituals · Bodywork (acupuncture, cupping)· Sound Bath · Reading Hour
What people said after the last one

What people said after the last one *
“Ann has a way of making people feel really comfortable in their own skin & open to share with each other - even if it’s the first time you’re meeting someone.”
-Clare
“Loved the programming & getting to know everyone in the group. I hadn’t considered how nice it is to have like-minded people who are also similarly trying to figure out what their next year is going to look like & how it maps to their larger intentions.”
-Vishak
“I loved the way The Shift was lead around initiating change & getting clear on what we’re looking for & tactical ways to make it happen. Loved the mix of functional advice & the freedom to dream.”
-Becca

Who you'll be with
Ann samuelson
Your hostAnn has been leading intention setting experiences for 10+ years — in person, virtually, and everywhere in between. She teaches somatic dance, pilates, and yoga, and has spent a decade developing practices to help people get out of their heads and back into their bodies.
She created The Shift because she's been the person on autopilot too. She knows the way back.
Expect: warmth, zero judgment, sessions that move you (sometimes literally), and a weekend that feels like something.
Megan Fitzpatrick, MSTOM, L.Ac
AcupuncturistMegan’s journey into acupuncture was inspired by her personal experience using it to manage stress and balance her nervous system. She is passionate about acupuncture’s ability to help the body heal itself, honoring the mind, body, and spirit as one interconnected unit.
She will be leading a sound bath with ear seeds. She also will be offering full acupuncture appointments & cosmetic acupuncture (your wrinkles hate to see her coming).
Where we're doing this
A sanctuary shaped by land and love
Akera began as a dream between friends who believed that the way we gather, create, and heal could be reimagined from the ground up.
What started as a personal dream quickly revealed itself as something larger: a living laboratory for creativity, community, and conscious living. Friends arrived, then collaborators, then seekers. The land itself seemed to call people in.
Today, Akera is a sanctuary for retreat leaders, artists, weddings, and anyone who craves depth. The geodesic dome, the trails, the panoramic sauna, the meadows—every element was designed not as an amenity, but as a portal to a more coherent and balanced way of life.

FAQs / Things people ask
Is this for me if I'm not a yoga person / spiritual person / whatever?
1
Yes. There's no required belief system here. You don't have to be into crystals or be able to touch your toes. You just have to be a person who's ready to take a few days for themselves. The programming is diverse — movement, creativity, conversation, nature — and you follow what resonates.
What's the food situation?
2
All meals are freshly prepared by a pricate chef and served family-style so we eat together. If you have dietary restrictions or allergies, just let us know when you reach out after booking — we'll make sure you're taken care of.
I'm coming by myself. Is that weird?
3
That's how most people come. And it's consistently what people are most glad they did. The folks who show up to something like this tend to be the exact kind of people you've been wanting to be around.
4
How much does the retreat cost?
5
Pricing ranges from $950 to $1,550 per person depending on your accommodation and that covers everything: all meals, every activity, sauna, and your exclusive merch pack. The only thing not included is optional bodywork sessions with our on-site massage therapist.
Can i pay in installments?
6
Yes! If you need to split your payment into installments, just email us at samuelsonann@gmail.com before booking and we'll work something out.
What do I pack?
7
Comfy layers, movement clothes, a journal, and whatever you use to feel like yourself. A full packing list goes out after you book.
When does the retreat start & end?
8
Start: You can check-in anytime on Friday, June 5 & we’ll have an opening circle around 6:30 pm & dinner around 7 pm.
End: We will finish & check out around 11 - 11:30 am on Sunday, June 7.
How do I get there?
9
Head north on 101. Spirit Camp is less than 3 hours from San Francisco & Oakland. Address: 4640 Albion Little River Rd, Little River, CA 95456. We'll share a group thread after booking to help coordinate carpools if you need one.

You're already thinking about it.
Three days. Catskills. Delicious local food. Rad people. A body that remembers how to feel good. A mind that gets quiet enough to hear what you want.
